A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jack Benny Cobb, 75, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Mt. Hebron Free Will Baptist Church in Cassatt, SC. Rev. Jack Cobb, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cassatt. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Jack’s memory to Mt. Hebron Free Will Baptist Church, c/o 2071 Old Georgetown Road East, Bethune, SC 29009 or give food donations to Food for the Soul, 110 E. DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Jack Benny Cobb, widower of Ruth Snipes Cobb, died January 19, 2014. He was born in Cassatt, SC, the son of the late Lowman W. and Faye Cauthen Cobb. Jack, a Ret. CPO, served 2 tours in Vietnam while in the US Navy. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired Chief of the Camden Police Department. Jack was a member of the American Legion VFW Post 17.

Jack is survived by his children, Joann C. Wilson (Danny Ray) of Camden, Jack B. Cobb, Jr. (Debbie) of Cassatt and Tammy Cobb of Camden; brothers, Bobby Cobb of Camden, Neil Cobb of Cassatt, Billy Cobb (Sallie) of Camden and Roy Cooper (Marilyn) of Hinton, WV; grandchildren, Hank Cobb (Trabille),Stephanie Cox (Kendall), Jackie Smith (Ryan), Jennifer Caulder, and Ashley Cobb; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Molly, Kay and Nancy; and brother-in-law, Don Tucker.

Besides his wife and parents, Jack was predeceased by his son, Lowman Scott Cobb; brothers, Glen, Tommy, Jimmy and Joe Cobb and his sister, Linda Tucker.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
