Jacqueline Sharpe Zemp, 87, of Mount Pleasant, SC, formerly of Camden, SC, widow of William Robin Zemp, Jr., died February 13, 2015. 

Born August 15, 1927, in Lexington County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Gary Sharpe and Minnie Steele Sharpe. 

For over fifty years, she made her home in Camden, where she was employed by the Kershaw County School District working in the area of special education. Devoted to her family, she spent endless hours providing her children opportunities in music, dance, and sports. She was a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. In recent years, she resided at Franke at Seaside in Mount Pleasant.

She was predeceased by her husband; her son, John Steele Zemp; and a brother and three sisters.

She is survived by her son, William Robin Zemp, III, of Charleston; her daughter, Jacqueline Zemp Powell, and husband Mark, of Manassas, VA; grandsons Ethan Capers Burrus Powell and Robert Eric Powell, both of Manassas; and two sisters, Minnie (“Tommie”) Sharpe Spence, of Columbia, and Jane Sharpe Bennett of Swansea.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 11:00 am in Quaker Cemetery, Camden. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 2:00 pm in the Rodenberg Chapel, Franke at Seaside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Homes of South Carolina or Epworth Children’s Home, Columbia.
