James "Jimmy" L. Jenkins

James "Jimmy" L. Jenkins, of Lancaster, went home to Jesus on November 21, 2010. He was born March 11, 1940. Mr. Jenkins was the son of the late Benson and Wilma Sears Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of 50 years, Becky R. Jenkins, a son Dell Jenkins and his wife Teresa, a daughter Joy Jenkins Funderburk, all of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Dustee Sims and her husband Tracy, Jimmy Jenkins and his wife Cassie, Michael Funderburk, Chris Jenkins, Matthew Funderburk and his wife Kyndal, Jessica Jenkins and Mandi Funderburk all of Lancaster; six great grandchildren, Hannah Sims, Hailey Sims, Branson Johnson, Madelynn Funderburk, Addison Jenkins, and Kash Funderburk; three sisters, Louise Player of Lancaster, Letha Twitty and her husband Clayton of Lugoff, Carol Henry of Cleveland, TN., and one brother, Donald Jenkins of Lancaster.

Mr. Jenkins was a youth baseball coach with Palmetto Youth and coached two teams to State Championship. He was the owner and operator of Shrimp Boat of Lancaster for over 30 years and former owner of J J’s Chicken and Fish Fry. Mr. Jenkins was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He accepted Jesus as his savior in his sixties and was a faithful member of Sherwood Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jenkins will be Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 12:00 pm at Sherwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Anglin, the Rev. Lloyd Reid and the Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12 pm at Sherwood Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
