Graveside funeral services celebrating the life of James Lee DeLoache, 75, of Charlotte, NC, will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Bullock will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the Kershaw House. Memorials may be made in Mr. DeLoache’s memory to the Camden Archives, 1314 Broad Street, Camden, SC, 29020 or Historic Camden, 222 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020.
Mr. DeLoache died Sunday, July 24, 2011. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late, James DeLoache and Isabelle Bunkley Deloache. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he was a member of SAE Fraternity. Mr. DeLoache was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte. He was also a charter member and treasurer of Joseph Kershaw Chapter and a member of Sons of the American Revolution and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn Pleasants DeLoache; daughter Lee DeLoache Barnes and her husband Jeffress Samuel Dortch Barnes; grandchildren, Jeffress Samuel Dortch Barnes, Jr. and Isabelle Robbins Barnes; sister Harriett DeLoache Case and her husband Bruce. He was predeceased by a daughter Mary Robbins DeLoache.
