Funeral services for James Robert Weinhoeft, 79, will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Dulaney will officiate. The burial will be held at a later date in Springfield, IL. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the church. 

Mr. Weinhoeft passed away Friday, June 23, 2017. Born in Springfield, IL he was a son of the late Joe Weinhoeft, Sr. and Gladys Adkinson Kaiser. Mr. Weinhoeft served in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve for 30 years. He was a deacon at Harvest Baptist Church. He was an owner of Goju-Kai Karate Schools in IL and enjoyed karate, metal detecting, woodworking, and reading.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Peggy Strader Weinhoeft; daughters, Peggy Denise Weinhoeft-Renfro (Adam) of Fayetteville, N.C., Jamie Weinhoeft Mace of Arlington, TX; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and grandchildren, Jackson Robert Mace, Taylor Remley Renfro, and Arjay Robert Renfro. He was predeceased by brothers, Joe Weinhoeft, Richard Weinhoeft, Edward “Moe” Kaiser, and Larry Kaiser.
