James T. O’Hara, Age 91, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, on Sunday, December 23rd, 2012.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 3rd, 1921. James graduated as salutatorian of his high school class. He moved to Wilmington, DE where he opened and operated a sheet metal and machine shop for 23 years. He indirectly performed work for NASA and many other large companies. He also worked for the University of Delaware and New Castle County where he retired as Chief Construction Inspector.
He found the love of his life, Margaret M. Bove O’Hara who he was married to for 50 years. She preceded his life in 2003; also preceding his life was his grandson Gabriel Briers O’Hara.
He is survived by his loving children, Judi O’Hara Blomquist & husband Gene, Jamie O’Hara & wife Teri, Peggy O’Hara Teofilak & husband Tony, Joe O’Hara & wife Becki, and eleven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother-in-law Nick Bove, sister-in-law Penny Clementoni, brother-in-law Jack & wife Dolly Bove and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road Wilmington, on Thursday, January 3rd, at 10am. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road Pike Creek on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm.
