Graveside services to celebrate the life of Jane Starke Semple, will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC. The Rev. James W. Barnhill will officiate.

Jane was the second daughter of Paul Ogilvie Semple and Margaret Trantham Semple. She graduated from Camden High School and was a member of the 45th Reunion Committee of its Class of 1968. She attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina. After holding several secretarial jobs, Jane accepted an administrative position with Chem-Nuclear/Waste Management, Inc. in Columbia, South Carolina where she worked for several years before being transferred to Denver. She fell in love with Denver and with a special young man with whom she happily shared the rest of her life. An avid history and genealogy buff, Jane collected family history and wrote articles for the Kershaw County Historical Society. At the time of her death, Jane was working on a Bachelor’s degree in History at Denver Community College and writing a history of the Episcopal Church in Camden.

Jane is survived by her loving companion, Oaxaco Aguasclaras; sisters, Anna Semple Trice and Margaret Semple Cracraft; brothers, William Ogilvie Semple and Paul Ogilvie Semple, Jr.; nieces and nephews.

Jane was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Camden, SC. Memorial contributions may be made to Denver Hospice, 8299 Lowry Blvd. 80230, Denver, CO, or the Kershaw County Historical Society, Camden, SC 29020.
