Janet Hagar Muehleck, 96, of Kings Grant passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015. She was born on April 14, 1919 to the late James L. Hagar and Ethel Nellis Hagar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Dr. William S. Muehleck.

Janet graduated from Syracuse University and had been a member of the Reformed Church of America while a resident of New York and later Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Camden, where she and her husband retired.

Mrs. Muehleck was an active member of numerous community service organizations throughout her life in both New York and South Carolina.

She was a Life Master level contract bridge player. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and appreciated the support of the Martinsville public library.

Surviving are her sons, William M. Muehleck (Megan) of San Mateo, CA, Dr. James K. Muehleck (Susan) of Martinsville, VA and Thomas Muehleck of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren, Jason Muehleck (Katie) and Matthew Muehleck both of Martinsville, VA, great-grandchildren, Samuel and Gray Muehleck of Martinsville, VA; also nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be today, August 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at King’s Grant Victory Chapel with Chaplain Paul Johnson officiating. 

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Regional Library, P.O. Box 5264, Martinsville, VA 24115 or to a Charity of the donor’s choice.
