Janie Ruth Crolley “Mama Ruth” was born October 13, 1930 to Jane “Janie” Roscoe Peavy and Benjamin Oliver “Berry” Peavy. She was predeceased by her husband Parley Crolley Jr.; Sisters - Alta Mae Peavy Crowley, and Beatrice Peavy Melton; and brother, Douglas Peavy. She is survived by her Sister, Henrietta Smith of Hartsville; daughter, Cheryl Hood (Steve); Son, Parley “Peanut” Crolley (Helen); Grandchildren, William “Will” DuRant (Hope), Charles “Chas” DuRant (Samatha), Tara Boone (Kevin) and Vince Paschal. Great Grandchildren, Charles and Kimberly DuRant, Julia and Thomas DuRant, and Helena and Logan Boone; and many nieces and nephews. She previously worked at Southern Bell, Skyline Manufacturing, and was a retired business owner. Everyone who knew her described her as “the sweetest person” with the most beautiful blue eyes and most beautiful smile. She loved cooking and fishing and passed this love along to family. The family will accept visitation from close friends and family July 8th from 5-7 p.m. at 5 Gin House Lane, Lake Wateree (the place she loved most). The family will have a private service at a later date.
