Mrs. Jean Tollison Chickering Eddings passed away April 6, 2014.

Born in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Gladys Moore Tollison.

Jean was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Camden. She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian in Camden, prior to moving to North Myrtle Beach in 1987. She then joined Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church.

Jean worked at Belk in Camden and retired from Belk at Myrtle Beach Mall after 26 years of service. She was a kind and elegant woman, a supportive wife, loving mother and amazing Neena to her two grandchildren. A true light would shine in Jean’s eyes when she spoke of her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband, Michael Eddings of North Myrtle Beach; two sons, Gordon Chickering (Weslyn) of Myrtle Beach, Mark Chickering (Pam) of Camden and grandchildren, Charlie Chickering of Myrtle Beach and Hannah Chickering of Camden; brother, J. C. Tollison (Yvonne) of Elgin; sister-in-law, Annie Mae Snyder, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Mary Eddings, Ronnie Eddings, Gene and Sue Hornsby, Eddie and Darla Schoolfield, all of Camden, Kip and Susan Chickering Bedell of Long Island. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her first husband Charles "Chick" Chickering, brothers, Bobby Snyder, Jack Snyder and Earl Tollison; brother-in-law, Allen Chickering; sisters, Francis Atkinson, Doris Catoe and sister-in-law, Ruby Tollison.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 9 in Quaker Cemetery, Camden, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, P.O. Box 3369, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582, as Jean had a true love of all animals or support the charity of one’s choice.
