Jimmie Jackson Sr.

A native of South Carolina and resident of Baker, LA for the last 50 years, he passed away on July 30, 2012 at Grace Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was 80. He was retired from Local Union 406 of Operating Engineers. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Baker.

He was a member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge No. 212 of Port Allen, LA and also a member of Goose Creek Lodge No. 401 in Goose Creek, S.C., a member of the Baton Rouge Consistory and a Shriner.

He is survived by a son, Jimmie Jackson, Jr. and wife Loretta of Addis, LA; a daughter Cynthia Louderbough of Grapevine, TX; sister Margie Sterner of Shreveport, LA and sisters Brenda Mabry, Lovie Dodge, and Kim Jackson, all of Tennessee; very dear and special friend Mavis Lambert; two grandchildren, Jimmie Jackson III (Trey) and wife Brandy of Watson, LA.; Carrie Ruth David and husband Mark of Addis, LA and three great-grandchildren: Grace Lynn, Austin Michael, and Alayna Michelle. He is preceded in death by his wife Delma Ruth, and parents George Black and Gertrude Jackson.

He enjoyed his fishing camp, traveling and making and selling trick wallets. He had many friends and enjoyed his time with them and his family, and especially his little companion Sparkette.

A very heartfelt thank you for all of the prayers from family and friends though his illness and special thank you to the staff at Grace Nursing Home. Jackson is buried at Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary. Share sympathies, memories and condolences at
