A graveside memorial service to celebrate the life of John Joseph Miller, 74, of Kannapolis, NC, will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 28, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Taylor Wells will officiate.

Our brother, John Joseph Miller, went home to Christ July 3, 2017. He made the best slingshots; made forts in the woods; dug caves in the backyard; and constructed towns out of the sand where we played with toy cars and trucks. We pushed them through the sand streets, making noise for the engines, until our Granddaddy would tell us to stop the noise so he could take a nap. He sometimes cooked for us and watched over us. One time he decided to make popcorn and put the corn on top of the pot belly stove. When Mama came home she found popcorn all over the room. When he was in charge, we had great fun playing in the woods and fields of our country childhood. John was a person who never said a harmful word about anyone. He was private and had great dignity. He was a loving person, and kept people in his heart throughout his life.

In additional to his brother and sister, James Leon Wiggins and Jennifer Bellamy, John is survived by his fiancé, Debbie Stegall; a niece, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Rest in peace, dear Brother, and roam the fields of Heaven.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is assisting the family.
