Joy died peacefully while she slept Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in Karesh Rehabilitation, Camden, S.C. Born in Waxhaw, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Lizzie Squires Blackmon and Bruce Blackmon. She was the widow of Ted Watkins.
