A funeral service to celebrate the life of Juanita B. Wingate Goodenough, 100, of Camden, SC, will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 28, 2014 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM, 1 hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Pastor Pat Amick will officiate. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery. Juanita Goodenough passed away at her home on April 25 in the presence of her two sisters, Mary Elliott and Dora Wilder. Her wishes of being at home until the last minute were respected and honored. She was born on May 19, 1913 in St. Charles, SC, the daughter of the late Isabelle Mathis Wingate and Thomas Fletcher Wingate. She was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church in Camden and formerly lived in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, but spent the last years of her life in SC, where she was born and grew up.
Juanita is survived by her son, Herbert Bradham (Sue) of Fayetteville, NC; her sisters, Dora Wilder and Mary Elliott, both of Camden; 7 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Goodenough; her daughter Mary Elizabeth Watts; and her sister, Ruby Bradham.
