Judith Lane Hammond, a longtime resident of Camden passed away on Sunday the 16th of July, 2017, at Kershaw Health Karesh Center.  

Judy was born October 30, 1941, in Tifton, Georgia, to Eddie and Bernice Brownlee Lane.  She attended Tift County High School and later moved to Umatilla, Florida, with her former husband, Jack Hammond.

She was employed for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper. She relocated to Camden later in life to welcome her first grandchild.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing games, crossword puzzles, and going to the movies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Edwina McMath and Geraldine Herlovich. She is survived by her brother, Leroy Lane of Tifton, Georgia; her children:  Paige Hammond Wilson (Paul) of Camden, Angela Hammond Kopp of Mt. Dora, Florida, and Jennifer Lane Smith (Matt) of Bentonville, Arkansas; and her grandchildren: James Wilson, Madison Wilson, Morgan Wilson, Gabrielle Hammond, Isabelle Kopp, Cole Smith, and Griffin Smith. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2017, 5:00 – 6:30PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street, Camden, SC.  Services will be held at a later date in Tifton, Georgia.
