A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Kamel Stephen Sheheen, 88, of Camden, Thursday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the rite of committal in Quaker Cemetery. Father Francis Travis will officiate. The rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 4 at 6 p.m. and the family will recieve friends until 7:00 p.m. at Kormegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Sheheen’s memory to Our Lady of Perpeual Help Catholic Church, 1709 Lyttleton Street, Camden, S.C.
Mr. Sheheen died Monday, April 2, 2012. he was born in Camden and was the son of the late Faris and Ninnie Francis Sheheen. He was a retired US Air Force WWII veteran having served in the Euopean Theatre. He was awarded the Bronze Star and received a purple heart. Mr. Sheheen was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Surviving are his brother, Francis Sheheen (Audrey) of Camden; sisters, Mary Hance (J.T.) of West Columbia and Rosalee Jospeh of Georgetown, S.C. He was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.
