A graveside funeral service to celebrate the life of Karen Faye McBryde, 67, of Seneca, SC, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Quaker Cemetery. Rev. John Hallman will officiate. A reception will follow in John Knox Hall. Memorials may be made to Seneca Presbyterian Church, 115, W. 1st Street, Seneca, SC 29678 or Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 502 DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Karen died Tuesday, March 21, 2017. She was born in Waynesboro, VA, the daughter of Jerry Parrish McBryde and the late Raymond A. McBryde. Karen received her undergraduate degree from Stetson University and her master’s degree from Clemson University. She taught at Lugoff Elementary, J. N. Kellett Elementary and Gignilliat Park Alternative school. Karen was a member and deacon of Seneca Presbyterian Church. She was on the Board of National Education Association, past officer of The SCEA and past officer of Oconee County Education Association. 

Karen is survived by her mother; aunt, Evelyn Miller; uncle, Bobby McBryde (Peggy), aunt, Joyce Parrish; and her brother-in-law, Randy Survant. 

Karen was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth McBryde Survant.
