Kathleen Berry Hall, 90, of Camden, passed away on January 13, 2011, in her home, surrounded by family. Born Kathleen Virginia Berry on November 30, 1920 in Lucknow, SC, she was the oldest child of James Claude Berry and Lila Berry Carriker. She married Melton Hall on June 27, 1941 and lived in Camden, SC for more than sixty years until they moved to Monroe, NC in 2003. Kathleen and Melton were blessed with three children, Shirley Hall Rabon of Lugoff, SC, George Melton Hall of Monroe, NC, and Blanche Hall Parnell of Elgin, SC.
Kathleen was employed in the textile industry until her retirement from Town and Country Manufacturing in Lugoff, SC on December 10, 1982. She was quick witted, insightful and much loved by her family, friends and fellow church members.
She is predeceased by her husband of sixty-two years, Melton Hall, and survived by her three children; a son-in-law, Carl Furman Rabon of Lugoff, SC; brother Wallace A. "Bill" Berry of Bishopville, SC; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Carl Britton Rabon of Savannah, GA, Charles Eric and Doris Anderson Rabon of Timmonsville, SC, Robert Len and Lisa Fotia Hall of Indian Trail, NC, Stephanie Rabon and Robert Newton Hinson Jr. of Charleston, SC, Benjie Scott and Kimberley Anne Hall of Raeford, NC, Jennifer Ariel Parnell of Florence, SC, Julie Parnell and Nathan Chandler Tollison of Williamston, SC, and Kimberly Rena Hall of Bluffton, SC; and nine great-grandchildren, Evan Sloan and Bailey Kathleen Rabon of Timmonsville, SC, Ashlyn Nicole, Daniel Steven, Edmund Bryce Hall and Jacob Warner Long of Raeford, NC, Robert Newton Hinson III and Sawyer Charles Hinson of Charleston, SC, and Makenzie Paige Tollison of Williamston, SC.
Funeral services and interment were held the afternoon of January 14, 2011 at Shiloh Truelight Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathleen’s honor to Shiloh Truelight Church of Christ, 8614 Truelight Church Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
