Kathleen Jeanette “Kat-hy” Reynolds of Camden, SC, died Sunday, March 6, 2016. Kathy was born March 8, 1944, to the late John Terry Reynolds, Jr. and Frances Appleyard Reynolds, of Mobile, Al.

Kathy graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor Degree of Science and Education, and from UNC-Charlotte with a Master’s Degree of Education. She retired from the NC Division of Child Development as a Child Care Consultant. Kathy’s love and compassion for people allowed her to make a difference in children’s lives as well as train and educate adults.

This love and compassion spilled over to Kathy’s love for animals. She served on the Board of Directors of the Kershaw County Humane Society. Kathy actively hunted with and supported The Camden Hunt.

 Kathy loved life to the fullest. She gave with no boundaries. Her strengths belied her stature. Kathy’s joy and zest for life and spirit for fun was a gift she gave to all who knew her. She had an extensive collection of friends.  

Surviving are her brothers, John Terry Reynolds, III, and Charles Peter Reynolds (Jo) all of Montgomery, AL; nephews, Charles J. Reynolds (Jennifer) and Spencer T. Reynolds; great nephew, Charles B. Reynolds and numerous cousins.

A celebration for Kathy will be at her residence, The Funny Farm, on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thiel-Meyer Pet Adoption Center, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC 29020.
