A private graveside service for Kathryn Mims Wilson, 86, formerly of Camden will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Quaker Cemetery. Reverend Hugh McKinney will officiate. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Wilson’s memory to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 S. Fair Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Mrs. Wilson died Sunday, November 21, 2010. Born in Timmonsville, she was the daughter of the late Sedrick LeRoy and Kathleen Dubose Mims. Mrs. Wilson was the widow of the late Col. William "Bill" Reginald Wilson. She attended Appalachian State Teacher’s College and was formerly employed as a bank teller, teacher and a secretary for the SC Forestry Commission. She loved gardening. Mrs. Wilson was residing at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Home in West Columbia where she had been living for the last four years.

Surviving her daughters: Becky W. Halsall (Johnny) of Lugoff and Kathy W. Crawford (Harrell) of Columbia; grandchildren: Scooter Halsall and Kyle and Michael Crawford; 2 great grandchildren: Cody and Brett Halsall.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Still Hopes for taking such wonderful care of Mrs. Wilson, specifically her nurses, Susan and Stephanie, as well as Harmony Hospice nurses, Jenny and Debbie, and Hospice workers, Gloria and Janice. Also, from Senior Health Associates, Dr. Shaver and Christie Milligan.
