Funeral services to celebrate the life of Laura "Ms. Laura" Jannette Elliott Medlin Brown, 75, of Camden, will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Bishop Foy Connell will officiate. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Ms. Laura’s memory to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Camden Ward, 34 Chestnut Ferry Road, Camden, SC 29020.

Ms. Laura was born in Loris, SC, the daughter of the late William Quincy Elliott, Sr, and Bytha Jane Sarvis Elliott. Ms. Laura was a graduate of Columbia Business College and was the retired owner and operator of Laura’s Restaurant for 28 years. Ms. Laura was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Camden Ward. Ms. Laura loved flower gardening and porcelain dolls.

Ms Laura is survived by her husband, Jerry W. Brown; children, Karen Medlin Lovette (Al) of Camden; Wayne Charles Medlin (Susan) of Lugoff, Crystal Brown Morrison (Alan) of Camden, Jackie L. Brown of Camden, and Barbara Brown Hodge (Bobby) of Charleston; grandchildren, Alicia Helms, Randy Lovette, Gabriel Medlin, Rebekah Medlin, Christine Smith, David Prater, Megan Streett, Jessica Catoe, Thomas Morrison, James Morrison, Niki Quick, and Billy Hodge; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Flora Aiken of Rockingham, NC, Doris Cox of Loris, SC and Hazel Lariscy of W. Cola; and brother, Paul Elliott of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Ms. Laura is predeceased by a son, Billy Joseph Medlin; sister, Marie Sherer; brother William Quincy "Bill" Elliott, Jr.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
