A funeral service to celebrate the life of Leslie King Drummond, 71, of Camden, SC, will be held at 1:00 PM, today, February 23, 2016 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. Rev. Angela Etheredge-Manly and Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery.
Leslie King Drummond died Friday, February 19, 2016. She was born in Camden, SC, the daughter of the late John King and Lila Ross Boyd. She was a teacher and guidance counselor. Leslie was a 1962 graduate of Camden High School. She received a baccalaureate degree from Winthrop University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. Leslie was a past board member of Quaker Cemetery. She was also the South Carolina Commissioner for Clan Ross and represented Clan Ross at the Scottish Highland Games in North and South Carolina. Leslie volunteered at Historic Camden and the Kershaw County Library.
Leslie is survived by her husband, John Marshall Drummond; daughters, Ross Richardson (Mark) of Charlotte, NC and Genevieve Penland (Philip) of Blythewood, SC; sons, Patrick Drummond of Camden, SC and Jack Drummond of Hopkins, SC; grandchildren, Laurel and Ethan Richardson and Blythe, Annabella and Maggie Penland.
Besides her parents, Leslie was predeceased by her brother, John Lee King and her sister, Sharon Grue.
