Louis L. “Doc” Wilson entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 11, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Lyvan and Nannie Erwin Wilson.
Services were held Thursday, April 14 at 11:00 AM at Refuge Baptist Church on Lockhart Road. Visitation was held at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel Wednesday, April 13. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Benevolence Fund at Refuge Baptist Church, 2814 Lockhart Road Kershaw, SC 29067
Surviving are his sons, David Wilson (Gail), Louis L. Wilson (Crystal S.); daughters, Mary Worley (William), Fay Hartis (Gene); daughter-in-law, Ann H. Wilson (Bobby); 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and numerous special friends.
Mr. Wilson was employed for thirty years with E. I. DuPont. After retirement he enjoyed fishing in Florida, singing gospel music and traveling this country. He was proud of his military service to his country beginning his career in 1939. He saw action in the Hurtgon Forest and Belgium as a machine gunner. He was proud to have participated in the Honor Flight to honor veterans of World War II in Washington, D.C.
He was predeceased by sons; William Gaylord Wilson, Sr. and Robert Lee Wilson, Sr. and his beloved wife, Mary Ellen.
