Lucille Dry Larrabee

CHAPIN - Mrs. Lucille Dry Larrabee, 90, died Friday, July 24, 2015. Services were held at three p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Heritage at Lowman Home Chapel, White Rock, SC, and will be officiated by Reverend Angela Jennings. The family will receive friends following the service in the Lowman Gallery. 

Mrs. Larrabee was born December 23, 1924, in Stanley County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Luther Flake and Annie Pauline Efird Dry. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School (NC) and earned a bookkeeping degree from Morgan Business School of Albemarle, NC. She held a position as bookkeeper with the Stanley News and Press of Albemarle prior to her marriage. Mrs. Larrabee was a charter member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Camden. She loved helping in the nursery and altar guild duties. In March 2011, she and her husband, Bruce M. Larrabee, Jr., moved from their beloved home of 53 years in Camden to The Heritage at Lowman, 2101 Dutch Fork Road, White Rock, SC 29177. Mrs. Larrabee enjoyed playing Bridge on a weekly basis. They attended the Heritage Lowman Chapel regularly. She loved traveling with her husband through Europe and Australia, RVing through North America, and cruising through the Caribbean and to Alaska. Including her husband, her greatest joys were her children and their families, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, their children Kay Larrabee Horton (Phillip); Donna Larrabee McMurray (Thomas); Bruce M. Larrabee, III, (Beth); and Chad Luther Larrabee (Lisa). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Danna Horton Misenheimer (John); Donna Horton Joye (Derek), Lindsey McMurray Zyrski (Chris); P. Brice Horton, Jr.; Haley Kay McMurray (Britton Reeder-Thompson); H. Blake Larrabee; C. Davis Larrabee; Grace Larrabee; Annabeth Larrabee; Catherine Larrabee and Mitchell Larrabee. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Rebecca Dry Medlin and brothers, Samuel Wilson Dry and Robert Flake Dry. Also surviving is her sister Anna Pines Dry Eagle of Mt. Pleasant, NC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
