A funeral service to celebrate the life of Dr. Malcolm Campbell Johnson, 83, of Camden, SC, was held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 21, 2016 at Lakeview Baptist Church. Rev. Hugh McKinney officiated. Burial followed in Indiantown Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Hemingway, SC. The family received friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Dr. Johnson’s memory to Lakeview Baptist Church, 1520 Mill Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Dr. Malcolm Campbell Johnson, widower of Patricia “Pat” Thompson Johnson, died Friday, March 18, 2016. He was born in Denmark, SC, the son of the late John Carlisle Johnson and Fanny Campbell Johnson. Dr. Johnson was a Retired Colonel in the US Army, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UGA. Dr. Johnson was employed with the US Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and a member of Kershaw Lodge #29. 

Dr. Johnson was married to Patricia Johnson for 56 years. He is survived by his daughters, Lee Johnson Goodwin (John) of Suwanee, GA and Cathy Johnson Young (Cook) of Florence, SC; son, Malcolm C. “Mackie” Johnson, Jr. (Megan) of Concord, NC; 9 grandchildren who loved their Paw Paw and Pop Pop, Claire, Laura and Graham Goodwin, Andrew and Daniel Burckhalter, Carsyn and Mason Johnson, and Zach and Tyler Young.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
