A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Shahid Joseph, 89, of Camden, was held Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rite of Committal in Quaker Cemetery. Father John Zimmerman officiated. A Rosary was recited at the church on Sunday, November 11, 2018 with visitation following. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, c/o construction program, 1709 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Margaret died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018. She was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late Asaid Faris and Fadwa Adry Shahid. Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She graduated from Bishop-England High School in Charleston in 1945 and attended St. Genevieve of the Pines in Asheville, N.C.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Paul T. Joseph, Sr.; children, Karen Theos (Jerry) of Charleston, Ellen Cherof (Eddie) of Atlanta, Pauline Frampton (Wyman) of Charleston, Margaret Koutroulakis (Harry) of Camden, Mary Hayes (Paul) of Camden, Libby Wullner (Sammy) of Columbia, Paul Joseph, Jr. (Anne) of Camden and Michael Joseph of Camden; 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and her sister, Adele Shahid of Charleston.

Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Clarence Shahid and Albert Shahid; and her sisters, Olga Moluf and Mary Shahid.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
