Marion Pond Anderson peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior early Friday morning December 15, 2017 after a short illness. Miss Marion, as she was commonly known to her friends, was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and an active member at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Darlington SC. She loved to worship through her voice, piano and guitar. Miss Marion generously supported missions and taught Girls in Action for many years.

Miss Marion was born in Bennettsville SC on March 29, 1925 to Charles McCullum Pond and Mary Lee McLendon Pond. She lived in Marion SC, Camden SC and most recently in Florence SC. She worked many years at Belk in Camden. Her husband William Baxter Anderson, who she deeply loved and respected, preceded her in death in 1998. Her daughter Evelyn Anderson Pelletier, who she cherished, preceded her in death in 2003. She is preceded in death by six siblings – Mamie Palmer, Charlie Pond, Janice Evelyn Pond, Clyde Pond, Doris Turbeville, and Baxter Pond. She is survived by James Clyde Turbeville (nephew - Laurens SC) and Reida Anne Poe (neice - Bolling Springs NC) and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Miss Marion’s home going was held at at Cornerstone Baptist Church (2930 Masters Way, Darlington, SC 29532) on Sunday December 17. A graveside service followed at Quaker Cemetery. Memorials can be given to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
