Funeral services celebrating the life of Marion Brooks Morgan, 94, of Camden, will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with full Masonic and Military Rites. Reverend Steve Patterson and Reverend David Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 10:30 AM until the service in the Family Life Center at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Morgan’s memory to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277 or Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Mr. Morgan died Saturday, March 10, 2012. Born in North, he was the son of Edward Thomas and Lillie Mae Crim Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a U. S. Army World War II veteran having served for 31 years. He received the POW Medal after being held POW in Germany and the Purple Heart. Mr. Morgan was a member of the JackLeg Club, Kershaw Lodge #29, James Leroy Belk 17, 40 & 8 and VFW 5928 and served as past president and treasurer of the Camden Shrine Club. He was a retired salesman with New South Life Insurance Company. A member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, Mr. Morgan was very involved with his community. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Frances Doby Morgan; 3 children: Linda Brand (Frank) of Columbia, Kay Morgan Elders (Dennis Becker) of Cayce and Becky Williams (Paul) of Greer; grandchildren: Gil Brand (Erin) of Irmo, Julie B. Marshall (Dudley) of Birmingham, AL, Chuck Elders (Melissa) of Camden, Kelli (Kevin) McCormick of Taylors and Dustin (Anna Marie) Williams of Greer; great-grandchildren: Lawson, Gracin and Peyton Brand, David Marshall, Dalton Elders and Jackson McCormick. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
