Marjorie McKay (Phillips) Fitzgerald 92, formerly of Natick, and Camden, South Carolina died Wednesday September 25, 2013 at her daughter Janet Smith’s home on Spectacle Pond in Lancaster.

She was the beloved wife for 36 years of the late John J. Fitzgerald who died suddenly July 9, 1983 just nine months after they had retired.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island she was the daughter of the late Percy and Bella (McKay) Phillips.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was the co-owner with her late husband of Fitzgerald’s Mobil Service Station in Newton and Community Fuel Company of Natick.

She had many hobbies, among them sewing, reading, swimming, but her lifelong passion was golf.

Mrs. Fitzgerald cherished the time with her family during the summers for over 40 years at Spectacle Pond in Lancaster.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Smith and her husband Gerry of Lancaster; Jill Hall and her husband Peter of Natick; one son Jack Fitzgerald of Marlborough; three grandchildren, Ryan Hall, Geoffrey Smith, Johanna Smith; two great-grandchildren Emma Haley and Danny Hall and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late  G. Phillips Painter and Arthur Phillips, and grandmother of the late Shane Hall.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Sunday September 29 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.

Visiting hours are Sunday beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Private burial at Dell Park Cemetery.
