Funeral services to celebrate the life of Martha Ann Timmons Hornsby Cook, 74, of Camden, will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Camden. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Martha’s memory to Agape Hospice, 141 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
Martha Ann Timmons Hornsby Cook, wife of Jimmie Levern Cook, died Monday, April 8, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Mark Roy and Juanita Williams Timmons. Martha loved taking trips to the beach and mountains and going to arts and crafts festivals. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout Martha’s career, she was employed with the Bendix Corporation, Standard Products, Elgin Watch Plant and was a CNA at Pinedale Residential Center and Camden Adult Day Care.
Besides her husband, Martha is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Hornsby of Camden, Linda Hornsby Cobb of Camden, Sandra Hornsby Peebles of Camden, Delores Hornsby Beverly of NC; step-daughter, Teresa Cook Little (George) of Camden; son, John Mark Hornsby of Lugoff; step-sons, Michael Cook (Margo), of Lugoff and Joseph Cook (Ginny), of Charleston; sisters, Louise Atkins (Duane), Kay Ayers (Robbie), Claudette McManus, Loretta Shirley (Jay) and Hazel Austin (Ricky); brothers, Orell Timmons (Laura), Waylon Timmons (Rachel), Joedee Timmons (Sue), Timmy Timmons and Sammy Timmons; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by her son, John Edgar Hornsby, Jr.; sisters, Gail Blackmon and Alyce Totherow; brothers, Kenneth Timmons and Mendel Timmons.
