A funeral service to celebrate the life of Martha Drucilla Ratcliff King, 92, of Cassatt, SC, was held at 11:00 AM. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, Camden, SC. Carl Nelson and Tom Nussbaum officiated. Burial was in the Barnes Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Drucilla’s memory to Kershaw Health Hospice, 124 Battleship Road, Camden, SC 29020.

Drucilla died Friday, February 26, 2016. She was born in Cassatt, SC, the daughter of the late William Thomas Ratcliff and Essie Barnes Ratcliff. Drucilla was an Education Specialist for the US Army in the Tidewater area and lived in Williamsburg, VA. She graduated with a BS degree from Winthrop. For many years she lived in Williamsburg, VA and owned the King Guest House. In her later years, Drucilla returned to South Carolina to live near her family.

Drucilla is survived by her daughters, Drucilla King Allen (Garrett) of Silver Spring, MD and Martha King of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Claire A. Wire (William) of Falling Waters, WV and Jessica A. Whitten (Craig) of Baltimore, MD; great-grandsons, Brayden and Maxwell Wire; her special niece, Paulette Musgrave; and her sisters, Esther R. McCaskill (Marvin) of Bethune, SC and Jo R. Best (Billy) of Charlotte, NC.

Besides her parents, Drucilla was predeceased by her brother, Neil B. Ratcliff and her sisters, Mary R. Hall and Annie Ruth R. McDowell.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Karesh Wing and Kershaw Health Hospice for their loving care given to Drucilla while she was in their care.
