A service celebrating the life of Martha Gladden Rabon, 87, will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Springvale Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. Todd Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM, Monday, June 13, 2011 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel in Camden, SC.

Mrs. Rabon passed away Saturday June 11, 2011. She was born on January 30, 1924 and was raised in Lugoff, SC. She was the daughter of the late James and Emma Branham Gladden and the widow of Herman S. Rabon. Mrs. Rabon loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Springvale Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School class and Tweenagers group at Springvale. Mrs. Rabon was an avid gardener and caring friend to her neighbors and fellow church members.

Mrs. Rabon was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herman S. Rabon; her parents; her brother, Mendal Gladden; her sisters, Mittie Rabon and Lucille Gladden; her twin sister, Nora Patton; and her son, Herman R. (Randy) Rabon. Mrs. Rabon is survived by her sons, James W. Rabon (Joeann) of Camden and Harold L. Rabon (Linda) of Lugoff; her daughter, Cheryl R. Dickert (Larry) of Lugoff; nine grandchildren, Donna Watts (Wayne), Wanda Welch (Ernie), Krystal Humphries, Mancel Boggs (Melinda), Keith Rabon (Jeri), Lisa Price (Trey), Tammy Hancock (Matt), Laura Dickert, and Bill Dickert (Megan); twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to special caregiver, Jeanae McDonald, Nurse Lettie Spencer, and the staff at NHC, Parklane.
