Funeral services honoring the life of Marvin Wayne “George” Gardner, 62, of Bethune, will be held Monday, December 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Harmony Baptist Church in Bethune. The Rev. Tracy Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, in Bethune. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mr. Gardner’s memory to the American Heart Association, Memorials & Tributes, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

Marvin “George” Gardner was born is Hartsville, SC, the son of the late Carey Gardner and Dolly Dover Gardner. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran.

Marvin is survived by his daughters, Donna Hinson, of GA, Shannon Utterback (Carey) of IA, Georgia Duggan, of the home, and Sondra Davis (Anthony), of KY; grandchildren, Peggy Railey, Joshua Marko, Levi Utterback, Montannah Utterback, Brandon Duggan, Ethan Blackmon, and Alexis Blackmon; great-grandchildren, Aubree Railey and Jayden James; sisters, Linda Short, of Bethune, Martha Floyd (Bill), of KY, Brenda Rawlinson (Charles), of Florence, Patsy Catoe (Frank), of FL, and Katie Cobb (Bernie), of Camden; and brother, Cecil Gardner (Patsy) of Bethune.

Besides his parents, Marvin was predeceased by his brothers, James, Hugh, Thomas, Ronnie, and Kenny Gardner.
