Funeral service for Mary Ann Davis Fetner, 76, will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Mrs. Fetner, wife of the late Ralph Alexander Fetner Jr., died Thursday, September 25, 2014. Born in Worley, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ervin Lane Davis and Ora Vanover Hayes. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Ohio and her Master’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a public school teacher and taught in Ohio, Kentucky and South Carolina. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, traveling and teaching science to homeschoolers.

Surviving are her daughters, Kristine Ratliff of Camden and Sharon Smith (Johnny) of Camden; son, Steven Ratliff (B.J.) of White Hall, Pa.; brother, Calvin Strunk (Frances) of Pendleton, S.C.; sister, Betty Seipel of Indianapolis, Ind.; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
