A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mary Strickland Robertson Eddins , 78, of Lugoff, SC, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, Camden, SC. Rev. Norman Knight and Rev. Matt Mims will officiate. Burial will follow in St. James Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund, 8620 Black River Road, Rembert, SC 29128.

Mary Strickland Robertson Eddins Thompkins, widow of the late Rev, James Porcher Robertson, died Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late Henry Louie and Olive Knight Strickland. She was a member of United Methodist Church and was a retired United Methodist Minister.

Mary is survived by her children, Olivia R. Deason of Lugoff, SC, and Mary R. McManus (John), of Lugoff, SC; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Robertson; grandchildren, Cynthia Robertson Wilson, Johnathan P. McManus, John Christopher McManus and Ashley N. Deason; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Reggie Allen Strickland (Dereda) of Charleston; sisters, Ann S. Housand (Paul) of Charleston and Evelyn S. Maupin of Summerville.

Besides her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her sons, Charles B. Robertson, James Porcher Robertson III; and brothers, Henry Louie Strickland, Jr. and Charles Bernard Strickland.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
