Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Davis Morris will be held at Wateree Baptist Church at 2:00PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby James will officiate. Friends may call at the home at 2010 Pleasant Ridge Drive after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wateree Baptist Church, 2024 Haile St., Camden, SC or to Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter, P.O. Box 3395, Columbia, SC 29230.




Mary Elizabeth Davis Morris, 90, of Camden, went to be with the Lord on August 21st after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Tillman and Pearlie Clark Davis and was predeceased by her husband, Hazel Morris. Mary was a member of Wateree Baptist Church for many years.




Mary retired from the Pine Tree Hill School lunchroom and always enjoyed cooking for and serving others. Her greatest achievement and source of pride was her children. She was a selfless person, never concerned about herself, only that her family was taken care of. Mary was a remarkable mother and grandmother.




Mary is survived by sons, John and Don (Penny) Morris; daughters, Sharon Fulmer, Molly Morris, Eileen Long and Joan Morris; grandchildren, Shannon Liverakos, Christine Long, Nicky (Lisa) Long, Michael Long; Jill (Sam) Robbins, Leigh (Matt) Smith, and Sean Morris; great grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Long, Anna Long, Mary Gwin Robbins, Rebecca Robbins and Fulton Smith; sisters, Betty Ray and Janice Mattox; nieces and nephews.




In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Harold, step-mother Lula Belle Davis; sisters, Flossie Baker, Vivian Hinson, Esther Ray and brother Benny Davis.




Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
