A graveside service celebrating the life of Mary Goff Pate, 88, of Camden, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery in Elgin. Rev. Craig Thompson and Buster Morris will officiate. Memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Malvern Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 1514 Malvern Hill Drive, Camden, SC 29020.

Mary Goff Pate, the widow of James David Pate, was born in Elgin, SC, the daughter of the late Ira Otis and Liddie Gertrude Perry Goff. She was a member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church and was a retired RN nurse.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Zinda P. Hayes (Eddie) and Davona "Bonnie" P. Owens (Clayton) both of Camden; grandchildren, Kristie Williams (Lee) of Camden, Chad Hayes (Denee) of Lugoff, Summer Rigby (Thomas) of Elgin, Zan Owens and Shay Owens both of Camden; great-grandchildren, Madison Williams, Caylee Hayes, Chet Rigby and Reece Williams; sisters, Pat Motley of Elgin, and Derice Dehon of Columbia; brother, Preston Goff of Elgin.

Besides her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her sisters Betty Brazell and Gladys Potter and brothers, Bobby Goff and Larry Goff.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
