He was a member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church and participated in several mission trips as well as enjoyed pitching for the church softball team. Willard was active in the Camden-Lugoff Area Shag Society (C.L.A.S.S.) He loved music and dancing with his wife, Linda. They were part of an elite group of shaggers who represented the dance at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
