Funeral service to celebrate the life of Miriam Pickell Denton Anderson, 98, of Camden, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January, 19, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Camden with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Bruce Hancock and Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM Thursday in the Fellowship Center. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Anderson’s memory to First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Mrs. Anderson was first married to the late William R. "Buddy" Denton, JR, then later to the late Malcolm Fletcher Anderson, SR,. She died Monday, January 16, 2012. Born in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Rufus and Annie Faulkner Pickell. Mrs. Anderson was a very active member of First Baptist Church for 80+ years and was a retired beautician.

Surviving are her sons, Bill Denton (Kate), Andy Denton (Sue), Joe Denton, DVM (Ann) grandchildren, Karen Strayer (Scott), Scott Denton (Carrie), Amy Clark (Joel), Josh Denton (Chesnut) and Mose Denton (Ashley); step-son Mac Anderson, Jr., step-daughter, Janet A. "Jan" Shumate (Tommy); 12 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
