A funeral service honoring the life of Murdic Branham, husband of Louise Jordan Branham, of Lugoff, SC, will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Springvale Baptist Church. Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be made in Mr. Branham’s memory to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, 3223 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia, SC 29169 or Springvale Baptist Church, PO Box 880, Lugoff, SC 29078.

Mr. Branham, 87, the son of the late Eva Ray Branham and Alec Branham, was born in Lugoff, SC. He owned and operated Murdic Branham’s Bait and Tackle Shop in Lugoff for nearly 50 years .He sold insurance, owned a construction company, and farmed soy beans, corn and wheat. He also created, owned and operated, Murdic Branham’s Marina on Lake Wateree, in Lugoff, which later became Teepee Canoe. Mr. Branham served in the US Army at Lady Island, Philippines, where he managed a group of Japanese POWs. He was a member of Springvale Baptist Church.

In addition to Louise, his wife of 64 years, Mr. Branham is survived by sons, Murdic Randall "Randy" Branham (Ann Marie), of Lugoff, and James Alex "Jim" Banham; daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Wolfe (Tom), of Fort Mill, Susan Wilk (Mike), of Myrtle Beach, Julie Hulteen (Dr. Hank), of Lugoff, and Melody Branham of Charleston, SC; and eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, and six sisters.
