Funeral service for Murray Lynn Truesdale Hawthorne, 56, was held on Monday at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  The family received friends Sunday 6-8 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Hawthorne passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, November 17, 2017.  Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late William Edward Hawthorne, Sr. and Mable Lucille Truesdale Hawthorne.  He was a machinist with Cogsdill Tool in Lugoff.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of 128 Hunting Club.  He enjoyed drag racing, NASCAR and playing softball.

Surviving are his wife, Zoelee Watts Hawthorne; children, Travis Hawthorne (Amanda Kirby) of Camden, Erica Hawthorne (Derek Vinson) of Camden, Eddie Navarro (Amanda Navarro) of Bethune, Phillip Navarro of Camden, and Holly Navarro (Martin Peake) of Columbia; sister, Felecia Ann Lake (Eli) of Huachuca City, Ariz.; brother, William E. Hawthorne, Jr. (Diane) of Camden; and grandchildren, Noah Hawthorne, William Hawthorne, Kyleigh Dickson, Jarrod Dickson, Paisley Hawthorne, James Anderson, Aaliyah Anderson, Corey Dowey Jr., Naveh Dowey, Kelsey Crenshaw, and Amelia Mae Navarro.
