Peggy Little Sailor, 87, of Camden, widow of George Edward Sailor of California, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
Mrs. Sailor was born in Camden on December 15, 1923, the daughter of the late James Miller Little and Jennie Clark Little. Mrs. Sailor worked over the years for the Greenleaf Inn, volunteered at the Camden Military Academy and enjoyed sharing her time over the Holidays with the Feed the Homeless Program. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing her knowledge of Camden’s history with others, cooking and playing scrabble by the hours.
Surviving include one daughter, Jennie Ann Sheahan recently of Las Vegas, Nevada, son-in-law Scott Sheahan; two grandchildren, Lilly and Riley Sheahan; one nephew, Robert P. Greene of Beverly Hills, CA.; one niece, Cynthia Greene Tate and her husband William B."Bill" of Big Canoe, GA; along with a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Mrs. Sailor was predeceased by her sister, Vivian Ray Little Greene "Bennie" and her brother James Miller "Jimmy" Little.
Graveside services will be held at Quaker Cemetery Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Dr. William F. Summers officiating, along with Rusty Davis and Oscar Kirkus singing some of her beloved songs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Sailor’s memory to Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 S Fair Street, Camden, SC 29020.
