Funeral services for Peggy Sue Truesdale Pokrant, 80 of Camden, S.C., will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., today, January 29th, 2016, in the sanctuary of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C.
Mrs. Pokrant, loving wife of Major Edmund R. Pokrant, USAF (Ret) passed away Sunday, January 24th, 2016. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was the only child of J. Curtis Truesdale and Melba T. Truesdale Karesh. She was also a step-daughter of the late A. Sam Karesh. Mrs. Pokrant retired from Kershaw County Medical Center as a registered nurse. She also had been a nursing supervisor at the hospital. Mrs. Pokrant was a graduate of Kershaw High School and a graduate of Camden Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, her friends and playing bridge.
Surviving are her son, Brian Pokrant and his wife Martha; her daughter, Margo P. Davis and her husband Paul; 4 grandchildren, Maggie Davis, Rebecca Davis, Paul Davis and Nicholas Sykes; her aunt, Lois P. Truesdale and many cousins. She is also survived by her beloved canine companions, Millie and Toby.
The family received friends Thursday, January 28th, 2016, at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
