A memorial service celebrating the life of Ray Marion Brasington, 85, of Camden, was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Bethel Worship Center, Camden, SC. Pastor Casey Mills, Pastor Raymond Sellers and Reverend Bruce Hancock officiated. The family received friends following the service in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be made in Mr. Brasington’s memory to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.
Mr. Brasington died Friday, February 22, 2013. Born in Heath Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Leroy Hobson and Verdie Hinson Brasington. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Brasington was retired from DuPont. He was a member of Bethel Worship Center.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Maddox Brasington; 3 daughters, Suzanne Leland of Columbia, Kathy Frost (Donald) of Camden; and Jill Brasington of Camden and Columbia; 1 son, W. Allen Brasington of Camden; grandchildren, Nicholas Frost (Ashley), Jay Frost (Jena), Skye Brasington, Cindy Brasington and Jennifer Brasington, all of Camden; 2 great grandchildren: Colin Frost and Sara Frost; 1 brother, Boyd Brasington (Diane) of Asheville, NC; 1 sister, Patricia Price (Jim) of Lancaster. He was predeceased by sisters, Neil Simmons and Hope Robertson and brothers, Wilson and Bryan Brasington.
