Funeral services to celebrate the life of Robert James "Jimmy" Wardlaw III, 77, of Camden, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2013 at New Hope Church with burial to follow in Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Rev. Lyn Hill and Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday January 9, 2013 from 7:00 til 9:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mr. Wardlaw’s memory to New Hope Church, 9025 Liberty Hill Road, Camden, SC 29020.

Robert James "Jimmy" Wardlaw III, husband of Loyda Creel Wardlaw died Monday, January 7, 2013 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. The Lord welcomed Jimmy into his arms. Born in Columbia but raised in Liberty Hill, son of the late Robert James Wardlaw, Jr. and Frieda Towne Wardlaw.

Mr. Wardlaw was a member of New Hope Church, He was a dedicated Christian and lived an exemplary life of putting God and family first. Jimmy was a Board member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Cemetery Association, member of American Legion Post #17 and a Mason. Mr. Wardlaw was a US Navy veteran. Jimmy was retired from DuPont after 32 years of service. He was a loving husband and a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Besides his wife, Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Teresa Wardlaw (Connie), of Gaston; sons, Robert James Wardlaw IV, of Camden, John Michael Wardlaw (Jennifer), of Charleston, Michael D. Faircloth (Pam) of Camden; grandchildren, Charles M. Wardlaw, Jr. (Brooke), Brittany Wardlaw, Bryan Wardlaw (Jessica), Alexis Wardlaw, Brady Cox, Taylor Cox; a great-grandson, Charles M. Wardlaw, III; brother, Billy Wardlaw (Sandra).

Besides his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his son, Charles M. Wardlaw, Sr. and his wife Theresa B. Wardlaw.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
