A memorial service to honor the life of Robert Lindsay King, 83, of Camden, SC, will be held at 1:00 PM, today, January 12, 2015 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden. Rev. David Weaver and Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made in Robert Lindsay’s memory to Kershaw County Hospice, 124 Battleship Road, Camden, SC 29020, Abbey Road Hospice, 5429 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 or Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Robert Lindsay King, husband of Linda Summerford King, died Friday, January 9, 2015. He was born in Hartsville, SC, the son of the late Clyde Walton King and Pearl Chappelle King. Robert Lindsay was employed by DuPont for 34 year and was a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church.  He was also a licensed building contractor, owner of Robert King Realty, and owner of Lindsay’s Bridal Shop. Robert Lindsay loved his family, golf, fishing, shag dancing and the beach. He loved his grandchildren and would brag about them to anyone who would listen.

Besides his wife of 58 years, Robert Lindsay is survived by his daughters, Robin Creel (Joe) of Greenville, SC, Kim Demer (Bill) of Camden and Lee Hughes (Jim) of Charleston; grandchildren, Robert Creel, Matt Creel, Helen Romero (Adam), Hope Demer, John Demer, Sam Demer, Julian Hughes and Simon Hughes; and his sister, Carolyn Sterling of Hartsville, SC.

Besides his parents, Robert Lindsay was predeceased by his brothers, Harry King and Leslie King.
