A memorial service to celebrate the life of Robin Hawkins Stanley, 66, of Camden, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Charles Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends in Richardson Hall following the service. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 1315 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Robin, died Saturday, February 4, 2017. She was born in Leesburg, VA, the daughter of Jean Coleman Hawkins and the late George Wesley Hawkins Jr. Robin retired as a school teacher after 40 years of service. She taught in Johnson City and Nashville TN, Battle Creek, MI, and Providence High School in Charlotte, NC. Robin was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church where she was in both the Flower and Altar Linens Guilds.

Robin’s lifetime passion for equestrian competition and her beloved horse named “Hope” kept her involved in as many horse shows as she could manage until cancer no longer allowed it.

She was a member of the Camden Hunt.

Robin is survived by her husband of 43 years, Derek Hunt Stanley, Sr.; daughter, Stuart Stanley Cawthon (Kenneth) of Charlotte; son, Hunt Stanley (Sarah, fiancée) of Athens, GA; her grandson, Ray Cawthon and her mother, Jean Hawkins.

Robin was predeceased by her brother, Wesley and sister, Wendy.
