A funeral service for Sarah Ellen Twitty, 94, was held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, following with burial in Damascus United Methodist Church Cemetery, Westville.

The Rev. Russell Galloway officiated. The family received friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Mrs. Twitty died Thursday, April 4, 2013. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Lillian McDonald Davis. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Gail Branham of Lugoff and Linda Glenn of Cassatt; son, John Twitty of Lancaster; brother, Howard Davis of Campbella; sister, Betty Demby of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. She was predeceased bya daughter, Sally Twitty; and brothers, Oscar Davis, Albert Davis and William Davis.
