A Celebration of Life for Shirley Garrison Woodyard will be held Friday August 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden. Ms. Woodyard, 77, passed away on May 3, 2014 at Myrtle Beach Estates. Born July 23, 1936, in Portland, TN, she was a daughter of the late Stephen E. Garrison and the late Drucilla Douglas Garrison. Ms. Woodyard was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Camden where she sang with The Silvertones Choir and was part of the Faith Sunday School Class 4. She was a graduate of Camden High School, and a retiree of EI DuPont, Lugoff.

Survivors include three children, Bob Woodyard (Vivian) of Greenwood, K. Woody Simpson (Dwaine) of Myrtle Beach, and Cindy Conner (Dennis) of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Matthew Woodyard (Tara) and Noah Woodyard all of Greenwood and Bethany Woodyard of Bluffton; two great grandchildren, Lyndsey Woodyard and Matt Woodyard both of Greenwood; four nephews, Richard McManus, Ronnie McManus and Donnie McManus all of Columbia and Steve McManus of Camden; a brother in law, Dickie McManus of Camden; and a special friend, Carolyn Rabon of Camden.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia McManus and her brother, Donald Garrison.

The family will receive friends at the graveside 30 minutes before and after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation of SC or Alzheimer’s Association SC Chapter.
