There will be a Celebration of Life service for Shirley Anne Brady Knickel, 82, of Camden, SC, at 2:00 PM, today, January 24, 2017 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden, SC with a reception immediately following in the Family Life Center. Rev. David Weaver, Rev. Steve Patterson, and Rev. Frank Griffin will officiate. Shirley was a Christian of strong faith and asked that her life was celebrated rather than mourned. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Shirley, (formerly of Cardington, OH and Marion, OH) passed peacefully on January 19, 2017 with her family by her side after a brief struggle with cancer. Shirley was born on December 21, 1934 in Marion, Ohio and is the daughter of Robert Brady and Virginia Phelps.
Shirley was an active member of the Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden where she attended Sunday Services and Bible Study faithfully and served in many voluntary roles in support of others. Shirley graduated from Harding High School in Marion, Ohio in 1952 and is a Retired Associate of JC Penney Co. and Belk.
Shirley is survived by her faithful husband of 52 years, Robert (Bob) Knickel of Camden, SC, (formerly of Cardington, OH and Marion, OH); sons, Marc Williams and Rev. Brian Williams; daughter, Temple Knickel VanCuyk; and her sister, Sharon Wilson.
